Cartier Miss Pasha Pink Gold Diamonds Dial Fabric Strap Ladies Watch WJ124028 Review
Written by: Linda Gayle Parker
Cartier’s Miss Pasha Pink Gold Diamonds Dial Fabric Strap Ladies Watch WJ124028 is a very elegant and streamlined timepiece, set with the understated sparkle of 8 diamonds and the soft but brilliant glow of pink gold. If you are looking for a fine dress watch, designed with classic appeal, constructed with high quality materials, that can also do double duty with casual wear, this could be the watch for you.
This watch has sparkle, but not in a way that hits the viewer over the head with bling. Eight small, round cut diamonds mark the positions of the hours, excepting 12, 3, 6 and 9 o’clock. (Those particular hours are marked with black Arabic numerals.)
The pink or rose gold features of this watch also balance beautifully with the silver-white inner dial. The simplicity of the dial’s design makes it readable at a glance, along with the blue-steel hour and minute hands.
Cartier refers to the strap as “Toile Brossée” fabric. That is a fancy way of saying ‘brushed canvas” which does not seem in keeping, to me, with the rest of the high quality materials of this timepiece. One would think they agree, since they resort to French to make it sound impressive. Be that as it may, I am sure there are many who will love the understated way the beige strap compliments the pink gold case.

Potential drawbacks to this watch are few. The dial is not very large, so readability in low light might be an issue. But there is a very nice contrast between the dark blue hands and the silvery-white dial. The black Arabic numerals on the main hours are also highly visible. A highly scratch resistant sapphire crystal, standard in high quality watches these days, protects the dial. However, since the case of this watch is made of pink gold, or rose gold, as some prefer, it will not take dings lightly. This is a fine quality dress watch that needs to be treated as such.
Variations on this model of the Miss Pasha are numerous. If you like the idea of having diamonds surrounding the outer dial, you might like the WJ124026 model, which is identical in every other way to the model shown above. The strap is also available in black fabric. Other choices include a stainless steel version without diamonds, sure to be tougher when it comes to wear and tear, as well as a model featuring white gold. These and other choices can be viewed at Cartier.com
The retail price of this watch is $12,000. No surprise here, with the cost of gold and diamonds these days. You also pay, of course, for the Cartier pedigree. However, there are online deals that will knock at least a few thousand dollars off of the price, so if you really like this watch, it would be worth checking into.
