Cartier has added a handsome men’s watch to their Ballon Bleu series that uses fine materials like brushed steel and 18K rose gold with the graceful lines this series is known for. The W6920023 incorporates the series’ unique inset crown feature, with a curved steelĀ  crown protector that bridges the case. The crown subtly distorts the dial face at three o’clock. This design emphasizes the date window and gold features of the beautiful chocolate dial.

Without doubt the most striking feature of this watch is the melding of so many fine materials into one gorgeous timepiece. Steel (natural and gold colored), 18K rose gold, a blue synthetic spinel cabochon, and sapphire crystal, each put carefully into place to form a watch you’ll be proud to display to anyone. Other features include:

  • Steel case (42 mm diameter, 13 mm thick)
  • Cartier calibre 049 automatic movement
  • Stainless steel and 18K rose gold (3 links each side) bracelet
  • Deployment clasp
  • Water resistant to 100 feet (30 meters)

One nice feature of the Ballon Bleu series is that Cartier has developed models for both men and women. Purchase the W6920023 watch for yourself and you can find a coordinating model for your favorite lady. Consider the W6900256 in pink gold, silver dial and brown alligator leather bracelet. Other styles to consider for gentlemen include the W69009Z3 with a similar steel and gold band, but white mother of pearl dial. The mixed metals in this watch mean it can coordinate with any other jewelry, but if you prefer an all silver look, consider the WE9009Z3. For all gold look at WE9007Z3. Both of these models include diamond encrusted bezels.

Pros: The design of this watch is very masculine with strong lines and big scale components. Creative use of steel and gold will complement any wardrobe, and the brown opaline dial is a unique touch and a striking background for the gold features of the watch face.

Cons: This watch does not include any special features, such as a chronograph. It is a straighforward watch with a date indicator. This keeps the face clean and easy to read, and allows for larger roman numeral hour markers. The quality and workmanship will come at a cost. The W6920023 retails for $7315-$9500, but given Cartier’s reputation as a luxury watch manufacturer, you should not be disappointed in your investment.

The Cartier Ballon Bleu W6920023 watch is the perfect treat for you or your favorite gentleman. It’s classy style and fine materials will keep you happy for years to come.
